It's www.michigan.org vs. www.virginia.org!

Michigan led in the finals for the best state tourism website in the country until early yesterday morning.  Now we're behind, but that can easily change.

With all due respect to Virginia, we believe that our state has a better tourism product, (the Great Lakes, more inland lakes, miles of freshwater shoreline, the Mackinaw Bridge, more golf courses, more boats, more ski resorts, more snowmobile trails, more beautiful color tours, two peninsulas, more lighthouses, etc).  

Next year, the award-winning "Pure Michigan" campaign will go nationwide, and will entice more visitors to our state than at any point in our history.  Frankly, we need the jobs those visitors will bring here more than Virginia does. 

To folks in Virginia, this contest is just for bragging rights, but to us it's about registering another first and helping in some significant way to position Michigan's economy for future growth.
