Golf Reading Assignment

I spent a little weekend down time catching up with a book that I would classify as a must-read. It’s gonna be a little while till we see green and we can't be on the hill ALL  the time.  Make good use of the off time, make your golf plans now and prepare to come out of the gate going strong.

Checkout Every Shot Must Have a Purpose by Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott.
These are the two instructors that worked with Annika Sorenstam while she was playing the best golf of her career and preparing to go up against the men at The Colonial. I’ve never read a book that had a more profound impact on my approach to golf. It's a refreshing departure from all the "stack and tilt", "swing plane" techno babble. Books are not much help with that.  If  you want to get technical, leave it to the Pros like Brian O'Neill and company. They can help you with that stuff without all the anal retentiveness that most techy books introduce.

So much of the game is mental – and for most people (me in particular) the path to success lies in thinking LESS. This book focuses on building a mindset for practice and play with an emphasis on economy of time, effort and energy. Both right and left-brained golfers will find something here. I read it late last year and started to benefit right away.  I can’t wait to see what a season’s worth of application will bring.

Just be careful. I know when I try to explain the book I start to sound a little like Ty Webb.
Nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh. Be the ball Danny.  I'm not talking now...I've stopped talking...Not talking.
