Cuban Cigars at BOYNE

We all love getting away with something we shouldn't.  That's why Americans fawn over Cubans stogies. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but not if laws are broken in their procurement.  Even somebody who is not a Cigar Aficionado will do their best to truly enjoy the experience if it is afforded to them, just to know that they did.

Well I just shard a couple "Cubans" with some elementary aged kids today.

Before you notify the ATF and Child Protective Services, let me finish.

Today we kept our kids out of school and took a nephew along from Metro Detroit for a weekend on snow.  His mom was more than happy to cut him loose.  She is a skier so she had some idea what was in store when I told her to make sure to pack him a Hawaiian shirt.  His Dad is another story.  He is golfing at Doral this weekend, so I have nothing but bad things to say about him, but I digress.

Metro Detroit was a dismal picture this morning.  Like a black and white movie, the sky grass, trees and even the people seemed to completely lack color.
The cloudiness tempered our enthusiasm and we were moving a little slow.  By "we" I mean "I". The kids were already bouncing in place - hopped up by shear virtue of knowing that they were supposed to be someplace else.  We didn't hit the road untill lunch time.  By the time we hit West Branch the clouds were parting and I was kicking myself for not moving earlier.  When we turned into the drive at the Mountain the sky was pure blue and the hill was a flawless blinding white. Excitement was equalled by pangs of remorse for the hours lost. If only I had known, I would have gotten off my butt.  If you are reading this and it is Friday night or early Saturday, trust me and JUMP ON IT! It really is that good right now

We grabbed some chow, suited up and got out for a couple hours of fun.   And what fun it was.  Once again we were "night skiing" in broad daylight, in APRIL, on flawless snow, with Robins singing in the trees.  We all knew this was something we probably shoudln't be getting away with, but we were.  You know you've made an impression on kids when they dive straight into bed in order to get a jump on tomorrow.

We'll be out tomorrow, first thing and we'll be on the last chairs of the night too. If you want to get away with something out of this world, you'll get out here with us.  If you happen to have a really good foreign cigar to spare, look for me, I'll be the goofy-looking guy in the Hawaiian shirt.
