This late season thing keeps throwing me for a loop. The latest was last night when I realized I was prepping gear for an upcoming weekend of Michigan skiing while watching the Detroit Tigers highlights. That got my mind racing a bit. With the recent additions of Loon Mtn New Hampshire, Sugarloaf Maine and Sunday River Maine the BOYNE family now includes a large contingent from Red Sox Nation.
A family can’t be all love. There’s got to be a little sibling rivalry to make it real. Now we can add baseball loyalties to my jealousy of their incredible terrain and 2800+ ft of vertical.
Sugarloaf is usually the first resort in the east to open for the year and Sunday River has "The most dependable snow in New England". If everything goes well, it might allow for a skiing visit sporting a Tigers cap fresh off a drubbing of the BoSox in the ALCS. Maybe it’s time to place a little pre-season wager.
