Spring Roll

What are you doing the weekend of the 17th?
If your answer is anything less than something really outstanding- consider dusting off your bike and rolling out for one of Northern Michigan’s coolest traditions.

The Zoo-De-Mack Bike Bash will be rolling through Boyne Highlands marking an annual rite of spring as welcome as the trillium blooms and morels.
Over 2400 riders participated last year and there’s always room for a few more.

Here’s the skinny:
The name sums up the route- the Zoo Bar at Boyne Highlands to Mackinac Island.
The ride is one of the most scenic in the country- winding along the Lake Michigan coast and through rolling, idyllic farmlands.  It’s important to note that this is not a race.  It is a casual 51 mile ride with a party on both ends.  If you aren’t quite up to 51 miles you can do a half ride to the Legs in for lunch and catch a shuttle back. Friday night is the Pre-ride party at the Zoo Bar.  Saturday has post-ride parties on the island.

It’s a great ride, fun crowd and heck of a good time. It’s also a good opportunity to get ready for swimsuit season- provided you don't enjoy the parties too much.

You can make room reservatins at Boyne Highlands here.

You might see me there…but then again, the Alpine golf course will be opening for the season the 16th. I’ve been waiting impatiently to play that beauty since October.  It might just have to be a game day decision.
