Chef teams from throughout Michigan present the state's great agricultural diversity at its succulent finest, complimented by fine Michigan wines, microbrews and spirits.... a true premier Michigan event. Weekend events include exciting seminars, culinary exhibits, three chef competitions along with great food, wine and celebrity judges.

6pm: High School Competition, Vienna Room - Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa
High school teams prepare dishes using chicken, beef tenderloin, Koegel's Italian sausage and a dessert. $10 general admission includes unlimited tastes. A cash bar is also available and entertainment provided.
Saturday, April 21, 2012:
9am-3pm: Food Seminars and Demonstrations, Civic Center - FREE ADMISSION
9am-3pm: Michigan Food Vendors, Civic Center
11am-2pm: Taste of Michigan Competition, Civic Center
Featuring three exciting tasting categories: College and Universities, Center of the Plate (Professionals) and Dessert. Cost is $25 for eight tickets good towards food and beverage tastings. Additional tickets can be purchased in quantities of four for $15 or eight for $25. Entry/tickets can be purchased at the door. Chef teams, craft brewers, vintners and spirits distillers are judged by a team of celebrity judges and the public.
6pm-9pm: Chefs Challenge Cook-Off Dinner, Civic Center
The Chefs Challenge Cook-Off Dinner begins with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and the program. The evening is emceed by celebrity Chef Michelle Bommarito and includes a mouthwatering four-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Jeff Minkwic and Executive Sous Chef Chad King of Boyne Mountain, plus two beverages. Guests will enjoy watching the final cook-off between the top two professional winning chef teams. Chefs Challenge Cook-Off Dinner tickets are limited. Course 1: Hoisin Glazed Duck Confit on Toasted Brioche garnished with Chives and Dry Roasted Peanuts
Course 2: Michigan Farmers Salad with Crisp Michigan Apples, Dried Cranberries, Grated Truffle Jack Cheese and Candied Walnuts drizzled with Sleeping Bear Star Farms Thistle Honey Vinaigrette
Course 3: Morel Mushroom dusted Pork Tenderloin topped with Morel Brandied Cream served with Patty Pan Squash and Fiddlehead Fern and Thyme Roasted Fingerling Potatoes
Course 4: Fresh Berry Compote En Croute with Grand Marnier Sabayon and Fresh Chocolate Shavings
