The Grind at Boyne Mountain is a 6-hour lap race for individuals or teams, utilizing some of the best trails in northern Michigan. Racers will be treated to an awesome course composed almost entirely of single track. Each lap will feature the infamous climb known as "The Grinder," testing one's willpower as much as it tests their quads.
Schedule of Events:
- 9am-10am - Course Inspection
- 10am-4pm - 6 Hour Race
- 11am-9pm - Outdoor Cook Out on the Mountain Express Patio
- 11am-9pm - Beer Tent, sponsored by Short's Brewing Company
- 11am-2pm - The Boyne City Remedy - Live music on the Hemlock Lawn
- Noon-9pm - Chairlift rides
- 4pm-5pm - Awards Presentation - Hemlock Lawn
- 5pm-9pm - Charlie's Root Fusion - Live music in the Beer Tent
Those who take part in this spectacular event will be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment, a ton of memories, and a lingering burning in the legs. Of more importance is the finishing celebration featuring the energizing live music of local band, Boyne River Remedy. In addition finishers will be able to enjoy some Up North brews in the beer tent presented by Short’s Brewing Company, thus ensuring a good nights sleep after the race.
What place could be better to get that much needed rest the night before the big race than Boyne Mountain? Offering special weekend packages for entrants and their friends and families, Boyne Mountain has the amenities to make everyone happy. Discounts for racers and their families include special deals on the Zipline, Avalanche Bay Water Park, and the Boyne Spa. Additional information regarding special promotion pricing and a code good for room deals will be provided upon registration.
If one 6 hour race isn’t enough action to fit into the weekend getaway, there’s plenty to do in any one of the neighboring small towns. Of closest proximity is the quaint up north town of Boyne City, nestled on the east end of beautiful Lake Charlevoix. Visit downtown for superb shopping or the casual dining experience. Hang out at the beach and enjoy the water at Young State Park.
