Trout Unlimited was formed a few miles over on the Au Sable. Leonard Halladay created the Adams fly down the Boardman. We are at the heart of it all. Everett E Kircher Private Trout Preserve
The best the Boyne River has to offer lies in 
the waters of the Everett E Kircher Private Trout Preserve. This hidden gem is the epitome of a northern Michigan trout stream. Exceptional hatches and beautiful trout abound in the crystal clear water of the Preserve. With beautiful scenery abound, manicured lawns, and amazing runs and riffles, you will be amazed that this private section of water lies in our backyard. A grilled shore lunch of dinner will top off your day. This exceptional place will return you to day gone by.

Fishing Pond
Resort guests are welcome to fish for bluegill, bass, and trout in the pond located at the base of Boyne Mountain. Fishing poles are complimentary to guests and available at the Front Desk of the Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa.

Fly Fishing Instruction
If you have never experienced the thrill of fly casting, now is your opportunity! The pond at Boyne Mountain Resort is stocked annually with trout and we're excited to invited you to start catching them. Many know the thrill of catching a fish and there's nothing like seeing a child's face light up when he/she snags their first. Try landing one on a fly and see what happens! All necessary equipment is provided.
What you can expect to see, hear, and learn:
- Casting (all levels of skill from beginner to expert)
- Tying knots
- Which flies to use
- Places to fish
- General history of the sport and fishing in our area
Offered Friday and Saturday from 4pm-8pm throughout the summer season. Complimentary to guests, however please call BOYNE Outfitters to make reservations.
Fishing and Fun
Experience summer vacations in northern Michigan at their finest! Fishing has always been a favorite pastime at Boyne Mountain Resort and we want to share that experience with you. With all necessary equipment provided, meet at the pond between 6pm-8pm on Monday evenings throughout the summer season. No reservations required.
