BOYNE Racing will once again take advantage of our sister resorts for early season training over Thanksgiving at Sunday River, ME.
Get a head start on your racing season with big mountain training a little closer to home. BOYNE Racing's staff of experienced coaches is excited to take racers to new levels of performance and consistency this season. We view this camp as an excellent opportunity to start your technical and tactical skills on the right track, while gaining skiing fitness that cannot be duplicated in dryland sessions. Our focus will be helping you establish the technical foundation and confidence that will serve you well for this season and more importantly, your long-term growth as an skier.

About Sunday River

In terms of sheer size, Sunday River spans three miles of ridge line, from White Cap to the Jordan Bowl and everything in between; 8 interconnected mountain peaks, 133 trails, 743 acres. Sunday River owns and operates the largest most sophisticated snowmaking and slope maintenance system in the East. It’s why they open as early as they do each year, being the first resort open in the East in first 2008, 2009, 2010.

On Snow Benefits
- Learn from coaches who have been there. BOYNE Racing provides the highest quality of coaching available, including Cary Adgate, a two-time Olympian and six-time U.S. National Champion; Gary Miller. former U.S. Ski Team Coach, two-time NCAA Team Champion at the University of Colorado and a Central U.S. Champion; and Jennifer Crockett, who is the winningest U.S. FIS women's slalom racer of all time.
- Quality coaching with an athlete coach ratio of 5 to 1.
- 7 days of lift and training lane access; 2 sessions per day.
- Early season training format; lanes will be set on medium pitch terrain to speed up the learning process and enhance early season success and build slier confidence.
- Skiing fundamentals refresher will include free skiing and technical drills, supported by repetition.
- Tactical fundamentals using brushes and short gates.
- Full gate slalom and panel giant slalom training, moving toward race day tactics.
Extensive use of video, as you have come to expect from BOYNE Racing. - Quality coaching with small groups and an athlete to coach ratio of 5 /1; this will allow you and your coach to find your technical and tactical groove and set the path for a season of success.
Off Snow Benefits
- Seven nights lodging at the Snow Cap Ski Dorm near the base of the mountain. (There is an 8th night option for those who choose to travel the Sunday following camp.)
- Breakfast and dinner at the Snow Cap Dorm Cafe. A lunch voucher is provided for the base area cafeteria. A camp Thanksgiving dinner will be at the Grand Summit Hotel.
- Daily personalized video review and/or seminar. Campers are encouraged to bring a hi capacity(4gb+) USB thumb drive so you can take your video clips and other "example" clips that we provide from camp.
- Because Sunday River is only a day's drive from Michigan, this camp provides an opportunity to make it a family vacation too! Families have a number of nearby lodging options, such as the Grand Summit Hotel or the Snow Cap Inn. Plus Gold and Silver BOYNE Season Passholders receive up to 10 FREE days skiing benefits at Sunday River.
Transportation
- Arrival - Will be Saturday, November 19th, with check in at 6pm.
- Shuttle transportation from the airport to Sunday River is optional. If you are flying and using the shuttle option, plan to arrive in Portland, ME (PWM) between 10am and 6pm. Please meet the coaches in the baggage claim area.
- Departure - Saturday, November 26 after lunch for those traveling by car.
- Eighth Night Option - Sunday, November 27 - Early shuttle service will be provided for those with flight departures between 6:45am and 11:00am.
Cost / Registration
- $1,200 for athletes who are BOYNE Gold Passholders using their sister resort benefits
- $1,500 for athletes who are not BOYNE Season passholders
- $50 for the eighth night option includes dinner and breakfast for those departing Sunday, November 27.
- $50 for the airport shuttle (Portland, ME / PWM)
- $500 deposit due with registration with the balance due by November 10, 2011
