Kids Camp Levels

What level are you?

1) Leopold Turtle

  • Skiing: First time on skis.
  • Snowboarding: First time on a snowboard. Learn to walk, slide, skate and stop with a sideslip

2) Nita Bear

  • Skiing: Stops and controls speed with snowplow. Attempts to make turns. Rides wonder carpet and rope tow alone.
  • Snowboarding: Learn to sideslip and turn on toe and heel sides, rides wonder carpet

3) Bardo Beaver

  • Skiing: Links controlled snowplow turns in both directions. Rides chairlift safely. Stands up alone after falling and follows directions.
  • Snowboarding: Learn to link turns from toe side to heel side on green runs

4) Fremont Moose

  • Skiing: Controls speed and direction through linking snowplow turns and alternating radius of turns. Can match skis at the end of turn and traverse.
  • Snowboarding: Learn to move smoothly from turn to turn and ride confidently, make transition from green to blue runs

5) Lakota Porcupine

  • Skiing: Skis on all green runs in control, matches skis in the turn and adjusts readily to bumps and jumps. Ready for pole plant.
  • Snowboarding: Learn to make different size turns for speed control and narrow trails

6) Penrod Raccoon

  • Skiing: Skis all blue runs in control. Makes basic parallel turns on greens and some blues, demonstrates speed control by steering skis at end of turn. Can sideslip and hockey stop.
  • Snowboarding: Learn to ride with consistent rhythm and to handle blue runs

7) Piper Owl

  • Skiing: Skis open parallel turns, alternates turn radius and pole plants comfortably. Attempts to ski moguls and take air off jumps.
  • Snowboarding: Develop independent leg action, ride with dynamic balance and absorb terrain better. Increase confidence on easy black runs

8) Dagmar Wolf

  • Skiing: Makes consistent and carved parallel turns with pole plant, demonstrating ability in edging and pressure control. Skis race courses.
  • Snowboarding: Learn to ride switch stance and beginning freestyle in park and pipe

9) Tadi Rabbit

  • Skiing: Makes dynamic short and long radius parallel turns with a strong pole plant on all terrain and snow conditions. Exemplifies proficiency on the steeps, in the race course, through moguls and during airtime.
  • Snowboarding: Explore tactics, expert techniques and learn to read terrain. Perfect your skills in steeps, bumps, crud, powder, park, pipe and extreme conditions
