Assistant Restaurant Manager– Boyne Highlands Resort
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full-time, year-round position within the Main Lodge at Boyne Highlands Resort. Responsible for assisting the Main Lodge Restaurant Manager with supervising and coordinating all food and beverage aspects of the Main Lodge food service areas. Will work closely with fellow managers as well as service and culinary teams to ensure that all aspects of foodservice are running consistently, efficiently and are fully operational. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will also be required to cover any and all uncovered shifts in any of the foodservice areas.
Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assists with the completion of tips and payroll process along with scheduling team members to ensure all shifts are covered according to projected business flow.
- Review monthly financial reports with the Main Lodge Restaurant Manager.
- Assists with interviewing and hiring qualified team members, conducting performance evaluations and appraisals, motivating and educating staff, as well as taking disciplinary action when necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all restaurants in order to maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work areas.
- Ensure the happiness of club members and guests by recognizing and greeting them. Assist them with their preferences and make sure they are satisfied with their experience.
- Maintain awareness in relation to accident prevention, safety and fire prevention.
- Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
- Ensure all reports are prepared completely and on time to develop a more informative database for improved management decision-making and critical evaluation of workplace activities.
- Consistently look for new methods, techniques, equipment and material that will improve the overall efficiency and/or quality of the department. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Beer, Wine and Spirits.
- Purchase or requisition necessary supplies for the restaurants.
- Complete and report monthly service ware and uniform inventories.

Guest Services Attendant is a part or full-time seasonal position at Boyne Highlands Resort. The GSA will efficiently and professionally meet guests transportation needs, transfer luggage, deliver messages and faxes, parcels, and packages, and assist in all other guest services operations. The guest services attendant will also be part of the pool attendants, ski valet and ticket checkers.

Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to):

  • Transport guests around the resort using resort shuttles or vans.
  • Provide quality service to the guest by responding to their requests promptly, efficiently, and courteously during check-in, checkout, and throughout stay.
  • Remain aware of all pertinent information, including but not limited to: location and features of guest rooms, onsite activities and events, events within the immediate area, etc.
  • Deliver messages, faxes, parcels and packages or amenities to guest room; as well as answer phones and delivering messages.
  • Handle the transfer of luggage properly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clean and organized bell carts, closets, shuttles and circle drive entrance.
  • Uphold a clean, neat, well-organized work area and be aware of and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Assist the front desk and other guest service areas as needed.
  • Tracking, transporting and storing guest personal and rental equipment
  • Off guest local insight on mountain conditions, weather, ski trail and events around the mountain. 
  • Ensure all lift tickets and passes are checked; understand all ticket and season pass products
  • Assist in handling concerns/problems (invalid passes) in a professional manner by following resort guidelines.

Guest Services Supervisor

Summary: Guest Services Supervisor is a full-time seasonal position at Boyne Highlands Resort.  This position will perform the duties of both a bellman/shuttle driver and a concierge, while supervising other Team Members in both departments as well as pool attendants, ticket check and ski valet. Individual will be required to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Provide quality service to Guests by responding to requests promptly, efficiently, and courteously during check-in, checkout, and throughout stay.
  • Remain aware of all pertinent information, including but not limited to location and features of Guest rooms, Distinguished Guests, events within the city limits, etc.
  • Deliver messages, faxes, parcels and packages in a timely manner; Answer all telephone calls properly, using appropriate scripts.
  • Handle luggage transfers properly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain general knowledge of the area surrounding Resort; gives directions clearly and concisely.
  • Maintain umbrella availability for Guest usage during inclement weather.
  • Maintain clean bell carts and porte-cochere entrance.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, well-organized work area, and be aware of and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of area activities and restaurants in order to inform Guests and be able to offer recommendations.
  • Update all staff members on all resort activities local attractions.
  • Arrange any reservations and activities (i.e., golf tee times, Spa appointments, ski lessons) as desired by guests while being sure to document all reservations as instructed.
  • Make alternative suggestions and reservations if a guest’s first choice is not available.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other departments, assisting them when necessary.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities
Guest Services supervisor oversees the Guest Service Attendant, Bell Staff, Ski Valet and Pool Attendants. This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, scheduling and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
