3-Day Winter Golf School at PGA Village

Join the BOYNE Golf Academy in Florida for three days of golf, instruction, and FUN!

This winter, BOYNE Golf Academy's best head back to Florida for a third winter of world class golf instruction, and here's your chance to be a part of it!  This isn't your ordinary winter golf school - with the BOYNE Winter Golf School, you'll be heading to PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Florida for three days of individualized instruction at one of the most impressive practice training facilities in the country. Whether you're preparing to compete in tournaments this summer, or simply looking to make your rounds of golf more enjoyable, the nationally recognized instructors of the BOYNE Golf Academy will develop an individual program to help you reach your goals and master all aspects of your game.

About PGA Village

While attending the BOYNE Winter Golf School, you'll be training on some of the finest golf training facilities in the country. The PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance encompasses 35 acres of practice training facilities, including over 100 full swing practice stations, nine varied practice bunkers that simulate various bunker configurations from around the world, 7,000 square feet of USGA putting greens, a world-class Golf Fitness and Performance Center, and more! Combined with the knowledge and guidance of the BOYNE Golf Academy instructors, you'll have the resources necessary to develop every facet of your game.

After lunch each day, you'll take to one of the three spectacular courses at PGA Village for a round of golf, complete with on-course instruction provided by the BOYNE Golf Academy throughout each round.

Daily Schedule

Day 1:

  • 8-8:30am: Meet your instructor & ball flight clinic with TrackMan
  • 8:30-9:30am: Golf fitness evaluation with a Titleist TPI Professional
  • 9:30-9:45am: Break
  • 9:45-11am: Full swing video analysis with V1 Coaching System, customized drills
  • 11am-12pm: Short game stations - putting & chipping
  • 12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
  • 1:30pm: Golf with on-course instruction - focus on pre-shot routines and how to evaluate your game

Day 2:

  • 8-8:45am: Opening clinic, focus on the mental side of golf
  • 8:45-10:30am: Full swing stations - TrackMan ball flight analysis & total game evaluation
  • 10:30-10:45am: Break
  • 10:45am-12pm: Short game stations - bunker play and pitching
  • 12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
  • 1:30pm: Golf with on-course instruction - focus on how to take your game from the range to the course

Day 3:

  • 8-8:45am: Opening clinic, focus on trouble shots
  • 8:45-10:30am: Full swing stations - before and after analysis with TrackMan and V1 Coaching System
  • 10:30-10:45am: Break
  • 10:45am-12pm: Short game stations - customized practice routines, including drills
  • 12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
  • 1:30pm: Golf with on-course instruction - full game on-course review

Your Instructors

Brian O'Neill, PGA

Creator of the BOYNE Golf Academy, Brian O'Neill has been a member of Boyne’s staff in various roles for over 20 years. A disciple of renowned instructor Jim Flick, Brian is recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Top Ten Teachers in Michigan. Recognized in the world of junior golf instruction, Brian is a multiple Michigan PGA Junior Golf Leader Award winner. Many of his students have gone on to play professional golf including Andrew Ruthkowski - winner of the 2007 Michigan Open and 2013 Michigan PGA Tournament of Champions. Joey Garber has had great success as well under Brian’s tutelage, capturing the Michigan Junior Amateur and Michigan Amateur in 2010. Joey was the highest ranked junior to come out of Michigan in the last 20 years and went on to play golf at the University of Georgia. Brian is an accomplished player as well. In 2000, he captured his first Michigan PGA major with a win at the Michigan PGA State Pro-Am at Boyne Highlands Resort. Brian has been featured in multiple golf publications such as Michigan Publinxer, Northern Michigan Golf, and Detroit Hour Magazine.

Mike Fay, PGA

With over 20 years of teaching experience, it's easy to see why Mike has become a leader in the world of golf instruction. Everything from cutting edge social networking techniques to having a mobile app, Mike has helped to evolve the way golf is taught in today's social media driven society. In fact, Mike's interactive online show, Ask The Pro, was featured in the May 2012 issue of PGA Magazine. In 2012, Mike was named as Michigan’s first Golf Channel SwingFix Certified Instructor. The Golf Channel SwingFix is an online lesson program with approximately 60 worldwide instructors. The SwingFix instructors have been featured on the Golf Channel’s website as well. An accomplished player as well, Mike set a course record with a 63 in the 2001 Michigan PGA Championship, the second lowest round in Michigan PGA major championship history. His victories include the 2003 Difeo Lexus Shootout and the 2004 Ricoh Clambake Pro-Am, both in New Jersey. He has spent the last 6 years as the Head Golf Professional of The Monument course at Boyne Mountain Resort prior to bringing his talent and enthusiasm for the growth of the game to the BOYNE Golf Academy.
