The two largest ski resorts in Michigan are taking advantage of the winter weather firing up their fleets of Boyne Low-E fan guns for the first snowmaking push of the season. The resorts started making snow last night, Friday, Nov. 20, and have resumed snowmaking this evening.
"The excitement of laying down the first fresh blanket of snow knowing that we'll soon be carving our way down the slopes is thrilling," said Erin Ernst, director of communications for Boyne Highlands Resort and Boyne Mountain Resort.
Although opening dates have not been set, the resorts plan to continue making snow at every opportunity and open the slopes as soon as conditions allow.
