Board for a good cause with the 3rd Annual Pink Weekend - Boarding for Breast Cancer on Feb. 28. The event raises money and awareness for early detection of breast cancer, while also encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. Proceeds benefit two non-profit organizations, Boarding for Breast Cancer and McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation's Kathleen Jontz Breast Health Fund. The event features a breast cancer awareness information booth, snowboard demos from Boyne Country Sports from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Chinese and silent auction starting at noon, Rail Jam at 2 p.m. with pink rails, Awards Party at 4 p.m., and a Pink Party featuring The Aaron Vaughn Band and pink drinks in the Zoo Bar beginning at 5 p.m. Entry to the Pink Party is a suggested $5 donation. Available now, support the cause by adding a pink ribbon sticker to your lift ticket for $1.
A new addition to the winter line-up at Boyne Highlands Resort is Retro Weekend, March 6-8, where guests can pull out their best vintage gear for a celebration of eras gone by. Boyne Highlands' popular Brew-Ski Festival is offering the largest line-up of breweries to date for this year's 6th annual event on March 14. More than 68 breweries, including 34 from Michigan, will pour over 285 varieties on massive snow bars. Best of all, admission is free. Simply purchase tasting tickets to enjoy four-ounce tastings of the suds and grilled eats while enjoying live music and great camaraderie.
