Explore Boyne Highlands on Two wheels!

Category: Resort Video

Wondering where to find some of the most progressive mountain bike trail options in the Lower Peninsula? Check out Boyne Highlands Resort, offering everything from technical and secluded cross country (XC) trails to challenging downhill (DH) trails packed with stunts. Spend the day with us and experience our expansive variety!

Not many mountain bikers in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan have had a whole lot of experience riding downhill trails. Generally speaking, that is because our great state is not known for having the tallest mountains so we tend to breed rolling XC speedsters. Strap an XC rider to a dual suspension, six inch travel bike that likely weighs double that of their normal bicycle, and you will see some serious speed! The only trouble is that DH bikes are rather tough to ride back up hill! So just hook it on the chairlift and enjoy a nice leisurely (and scenic) ride to the top of the hill on our chair. You might want to keep your camera phone out while making the ride to the top, and listen for the high-pitched buzz of a Zipline Adventure Tour flying above you!

Over the past several years, our freeride park has seen some dramatic developments due to the hard work of our trail building crew- many thanks to all involved! Your work has paid off, and the trails are awesome!

Among the really well laid out cross-country trail system, which winds through the woods surrounding our resort, our bike park crew has designed and crafted some of the best man made stunts in the area! (and likely the Lower Peninsula!) Some of the features you can expect to encounter include:

-Jumps

-Drops

-Wall-rides

-Bridges

New to riding man made stunts? Start out in our skills park and "get your bike under you" before heading up to some of our more extreme terrain. Once you are feeling comfortable sessioning our runs, head into Satori and hit some of the medium-sized tabletops and large wooden banked turn. Not big enough for you? Drop in on Mortician or The Trooper and hit some big ones! (The video above shows park crew member, Zach Grzelak taking a run through Mortician)

Looking for your next mountain biking trip? Put Boyne Highlands Resort on the top of your list! Swing by the Adventure Center for your lift ticket and hit the trails!

See you out there!
