Boyne Highlands Resort: My Second Home

I have lived in northern Michigan my entire life, only 15 minutes away from Boyne Highlands. After graduating from Central Michigan University and completing my internship following, I was riding the struggle bus of finding a "big girl job." After applying to hundreds of jobs and having no luck I was starting to lose hope. Then one night I came across a job for a Social Media and Marketing Content Coordinator at Boyne Highlands Resort, right here in my hometown. After applying and coming in for an interview, I got the job! I was so excited and I felt like it was so ironic after applying for so many different jobs around the United States, I ended up finding one right at home.

You always hear how some people dread going to work or hate their job. For me, it is the complete opposite. I have fun at work, whether it is due to my fellow co-workers or the task I am completing, there is never a dull moment. Boyne Highlands has grown to be a second home for me and the people here have grown to be my second family. The phrase, "work where you love to play" could not be more accurate, because working at Boyne Highlands really has its benefits. You get a FREE season pass for skiing and riding in the winter, in the summer you get FREE golf, you get 40 percent off dining at the variety of the restaurants around the resort, along with so much more.

All of these reasons among many, many more is why it breaks my heart to be leaving. I am moving onto my next journey in life near the Chicago area and it truly is a bittersweet feeling. I will miss Boyne Highlands terribly, but it is comforting to know that I will be home to visit. I have learned so much and have met so many incredible people from working at Boyne Highlands. Some of my favorite things I will miss are doing the Boyne Highlands Buzz during the winter, hanging out with the Highland cows, and sitting on the top of Kath Run overlooking the Bay. Boyne Highlands is where I first experienced ziplining, riding a segway, and even riding a horse. There are endless opportunities here and it is my experienced opinion that if you have a chance to work at Boyne Highlands then you should take it! We are now actually hiring for the winter! Life is full of unexpected adventures and I am very excited for my new one. I am beyond grateful to have discovered a second home right here in the place where I grew up, thank you for that Boyne Highlands Resort.

Looking forward,

Abby
