Horseback Trail Riding

Guided Trail Rides

Saddle up! Horseback riding at Boyne Mountain is a special way to get outside and experience the natural splendor of northern Michigan. Guided trail rides begin at the Boyne Mountain Stable, and take riders on an equine adventure through some of the resort's most remote, beautiful terrain.

Stables are located off the resortʼs Deer Lake Road, on Reserve Drive next to the red barn.

  • Riders must be at least 8 years of age and be able to sit unassisted on a horse
  • Maximum weight is 225lbs
  • Long pants required
  • Waivers must be signed by all riders or by parent/guardian if 17 or younger
  • Reservations required

Horseback Hours

  • Friday - Sunday: 10am, noon, & 2pm
  • One hour rides: $54 per person
  • Two hour rides: Contact Adventure Center for availability

Pony Rides (Hand led horseback ride)

For younger riders, first-timers, and those not quite ready to ride unassisted, our "pony" rides are the perfect alternative. The younger rider will be hand led on a full size horse. Join us for a ride at the Boyne Mountain Stable, which is located just off Deer Lake Road.

  • 15 minute rides - $25 per person
  • Must be able to sit unassisted on a horse
  • Long pants required 
  • Waivers must be signed by all riders or by parent/guardian if 17 or younger. Download Liability Waiver and fill out before arrival.
  • Reservations required.

  • Friday - Sunday: 1:15pm, and 3:15pm

Arrival

  • Please check in at the Adventure Center 30 minutes before your scheduled ride time to complete registration and sign waiver and release forms. This ensures that the ride begins on time.

Dress

  • Dress for the weather...we go in rain or shine!
  • A leather boot with a heel is best.
  • Each rider is required to wear a helmet which will be provided.  Riders wearing inappropriate clothing will be asked to reschedule. 

Cancellation
We must enforce a 24-hour cancellation policy.  Reservations canceled within 24 hours of ride are charged 50% of the price of their scheduled ride. No shows are charged the full price of their scheduled ride.
