Brian O'Neill, PGA
Director of Golf Instruction
Creator of the Boyne Golf Academy, Brian O'Neill has been a member of BOYNE's staff in various roles for over 20 years. A disciple of renowned instructor Jim Flick, Brian is recognized by Golf Digest as one of the "Top Ten Teachers in Michigan". A force in the world of junior golf instruction, Brian is a multiple Michigan PGA Junior Golf Leader Award winner (2002, 2007, & 2013), having coached some of the highest ranked juniors to come out of the state of Michigan. Brian is an accomplished player as well. In 2000, he captured his first Michigan PGA major with a win at the Michigan PGA State Pro-Am at Boyne Highlands Resort.
Mike Fay, PGA
Director of Player Performance
Mike Fay joins the BOYNE Golf Academy with over 20 years of teaching experience. In 2012, Mike was named as Michigan's first Golf Channel SwingFix Certified Instructor and most recently, Mike was named among the "Top 50 Master Kids Teachers" in the world by U.S. Kids Golf. As a player, Mike set a course record with a 63 in the 2001 Michigan PGA Championship and his victories include the 2003 Difeo Lexus Shootout and the 2004 Ricoh Clambake Pro-Am in New Jersey. Mike spent the last 6 years as a PGA Head Professional at Boyne Mountain Resort before bringing his talent and enthusiasm for the growth of the game to the BOYNE Golf Academy.
Barry Redmond, PGA
Senior Teaching Professional
A Senior Teaching Professional with the BOYNE Golf Academy, Barry has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the "Top Teachers" in the state of Michigan. As a player, Barry is a two-time champion of the Michigan PGA Championship, a Michigan Open Champion, and has competed on the PGA Tour (PGA Championship), the Nationwide Tour and most recently, competed in the 2014 PGA National Sr. Club Pro Championship. As a part of our instructional team for the past several years, Barry's dedication and experience in our player development area has proven very successful for players of all abilities.
