Boyne Falls, Mich. - Boyne Mountain's 5th Annual Dirty Dog Dash, a 3.1 mile obstacle race, returns on Saturday, June 7 with an all-new course and challenges. And you can get muddy for a good cause. A portion of each entry fee supports Wounded Warrior Project with a mission of honoring and empowering wounded warriors.
This year's Dirty Dog Dash has a whole new route utilizing more of the mountain's natural topography and elevation for the course. Several new obstacles are also planned with ski features repurposed for this fun, challenging run. Racers face off with a mogul field, traverse rails, climb over hurdles, trudge through water pits and mud, crawl under netting, and slip and slide to the finish line. After the mudslinging wraps up, Boyne Mountain's Boyne Low-E snowmaking guns provide a mist to rinse off and prepare for the post-race celebration.
Live music from Charlie's Root Fusion with their blend of blues, rock, and soul will have Dirty Dog Dashers feeling groovy, while chowing down on food from the grill and quenching thirst after a hard day's run. An awards ceremony honors the fastest speed, and gives prizes to those who show up to compete wearing the best costumes.
Participates can register as individuals or gather a wolf pack with a team of four or ten. Preregistration is open now at boynemountain.com with reduced rates through June 1. Individual entry is currently $50, four-person wolf packs are $200, and ten-person packs are $450. Participants can also register the day of the event. Spectators welcome.
A special event lodging rate is available to participants at Boyne Mountain Resort with hotel accommodations starting at $68 per night. Add a hot buffet breakfast for only $12 per person. For reservations, call 800.462.6963 and mention Dirty Dog Dash or visit boynemountain.com.
