Meet Colin Riviere, Boyne Mountain Area Manager

Colin approached me awhile back with the idea of creating a "blog" or a cyber place/space for him to give our fans, the outdoor enthusiast, an insider's look at what happens behind-the-scenes at a four season resort. Being that my husband works in Lift Maintenance and I have learned a few things about the mechanics of these magnificent machines, I jumped at the chance to open this door for Colin. As a woman in my mid-thirties (Did I really just say that?), I am fascinated by what makes a resort operate, so I can only assume that you are too! From electricity to grooming techniques, there are so many things that skiers/riders don't think about!

First things first, Colin is a busy guy. I think he is even busier than he realizes. Boyne Mountain is not a small resort and Colin has to wear a few different hats. Note this: When you run in to him, he'll most likely be wearing ski boots. Experiencing what the customer experiences is a top priority for Colin and often he finds himself helping out his crew by jumping in a cat to perfect our most popular runs. What I am alluding to is this - Colin and I came to an agreement that he won't really have deadlines for "blog" posts, but when he feels there is something to share with you, he will write something interesting.

So let this be the beginning of a great relationship between you and our Area Manager, Colin Riviere, as he gives you an inside look at how our four season resort operates.

This week, Colin will teach you about spring grooming and the "Freeze/Thaw Cycle." Come back tomorrow to learn more.

xoxo, Kari
