It turns out that working on Labor Day isn't so bad, especially when your day consists of research at Solace Spa.
Yes, I said research at the spa. How else am I supposed to convey to our loving followers what the brand new fall treatment, Pumpkin Latte, feels like? I couldn't possibly describe the delicious smelling products without experiencing it firsthand. Well, here it goes....
This isn't my first rodeo. Back in April, I experienced the Green Goddess Body Treatment, that was my first body treatment. Feel free to reference that post if you are a first-time spa-goer. Of course, the Spa Attendant at the desk was able to reference my file and knew that I had done this before. She politely explained where to grab a key for a locker in the Women's Locker Room and said that my esthetician would meet me in the lounge when I was ready. I headed down the stairs to robe-up and relax.
Beth met me in the lounge and guided me to the treatment room. The products were nicely displayed. She explained what each product was and what it would do for my skin. I already knew the process, so it was time to get started. She begins on the back of my leg and drips a warm oil on my skin, then applies the Triple Shot Caramel Coffee Scrub. The smell was absolutely invigorating. The scrub is caffeine-infused to wake up your skin, soothe, polish, and tighten it. It was very gentle, with no sting. Next, she cools the area with the Pumpkin Puree Mud Mask. The mask deep cleans your skin and you can feel it working. Beth proceeds to do each leg, arm, my back, tummy (which is optional), and shoulders. You never worry about a thing during this process, you are completely covered with every move and turn.
So now I have the oil, the scrub, and mud mask covering my skin. While on my back, Beth wraps me in a warming cocoon, literally. The sides of the table magically fold up over you and emanate heat. At this point, I smelled just like a Pumpkin Latte. Yum-o! As I lay there in my cocoon, Beth begins the nirvana-inducing scalp massage. I went from being awake to putty. I just hope that I didn't start drooling!
After about 20 minutes, it's time to rinse! She starts the shower that is in the room, let's you know that she is leaving, and to get in when you are ready. Once she hears the curtain close, she comes in a changes out the linens on the massage table. This shower is a treat in itself with five showers heads rinsing you from every direction! You can opt to wash your hair and turn on a sixth shower head above you, or keep your hair dry (Beth conveniently tied my hair up at the end of the scalp massage, it's the details that make the difference).
I settled back in under the covers and Beth returns after a slight knock on the door to see if I was ready. Now that my skin is exfoliated with a deep clean, it's time to moisturize! This aroma may have been my favorite during the treatment. She used a Sweet Cream Body Milk lotion, it smelled very sweet and went on velvety smooth. The product felt very soft and I smelled delicious for hours after my treatment (just ask my husband). After she massaged the moisturizer into each area, Beth let me know that I could get up when I was ready and she would be waiting for me at the door with a treat. We made our way back to the relaxation lounge, where I was able to put my feet up, have a glass of refreshing cucumber water, and my treat - a piece of dark chocolate infused with strawberries and champagne.
The Pumpkin Latte Body treatment left me feeling simply java-leous!
Solace Spa also offers a Pumpkin Latte Manicure and Pedicure using the same products. The experience was a great way to get in the mood for fall and just became available today! It's only at the spa for a few months, so book your appointment today!
You've worked hard all summer, so my Labor Day message to you is: INDULGE, you earned it!
