When we heard that one of our own, Boyne Mountain Ski Patroller Riley Mills, was in for a very big surprise this past Saturday, we couldn't help but get involved.
There was definitely something "interesting" about this bluebird day...love was in the air. In fact, love loaded on to the Hemlock chair, a two-person chairlift conveniently enough, just before 3pm. A couple out for a day of snowboarding at their home resort. A girl who's dad just happens to be our Lift Operator Manager and can certainly pull out all the stops at Boyne Mountain. That's just what her dad did. He stopped the Hemlock chairlift to give his future son-in-law enough time to reach in his pocket, grab a small black jewelry box, and present his girlfriend with a beautiful ring. Riley was clearly surprised when it happened...so much so, that we thought she might fall of the chair! (see gallery pic - hang on Riley!) We didn't exactly hear the word, yes, but we're pretty sure that's what she said before the kissing began.
The newly engaged couple was then greeted at the summit as family and friends emerged from the Eagle's Nest. It was a lovely celebration.
Congratulations from all of us at Boyne Mountain Resort!◂ Return to News & Updates
