BOYNE Launches New Park Etiquette and Education Program, PEEPs

Boyne Highlands & Boyne Mountain

BOYNE FALLS, MI (February 22, 2010) - Boyne Highlands Resort of Harbor Springs, and Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls, recently launched a new, innovative Park Etiquette and Education Program, also known as "PEEPs."  PEEPs is an interactive, web-based program intended to educate skiers and snowboarders about freestyle terrain signage; proper use of park features; and etiquette, both in the parks and on the hill.

Viewers of the program learn about park etiquette and safety through a combination of Smart Style, A.T.M.L. model (Approach, Take-Off, Maneuver, and Landing) and Responsibility Code elements presented in an entertaining, interactive format that includes audio and video content.  Viewers take several quizzes and after successfully completing the online program, receive a voucher for their PEEPs Pass.  PEEPs Pass holders are automatically entered into monthly prize drawings from program sponsors including Burton and qualify for the grand prize drawing, a four night stay at Big Sky Resort's Huntley Lodge and four days of skiing and riding for up to four guests.

"We wanted to create a fun way to get skiers and riders involved in our park atmosphere even before they arrive at Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain," said Jay Scambio, Boyne Resorts' terrain park development manager. "Our goal for the PEEPs program is for skiers and snowboarders to have the best experience they can in our parks by learning about our signage; how to properly plan, approach and ride our features; and how to be a good citizen while enjoying the parks and the resorts."

A PEEPs Pass is not required to enter the terrain parks at Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain, however, skiers and snowboarders are encouraged, through signage and handouts at the resorts and on the website, to take the initiative and responsibility to view the PEEPs program and understand Smart Style and Responsibility Codes.

PEEPs Pass vouchers can be redeemed at the Season Pass Office at Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.  The Boyne Highlands office is located at the front desk of the Main Lodge; Boyne Mountain's Season Pass Office is located at the front desk of The Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa.

BOYNE offers a combined 845 skiable acres, including seven terrain parks, an 18' Superpipe, two halfpipes, two skier/boarder cross courses, over 40 jibs, and many other jumps and features.   More details about the PEEPs program and BOYNE's terrain parks can be found at
