What’s New at Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain for the 2015/16 Winter Season

This winter, Boyne Highlands Resort and Boyne Mountain Resort are rolling out the first phase of enhanced Boyne Low-E fan guns that further increase efficiency and improve snow quality with a new nozzle design.  This cutting edge technology is expected to be Boyne's next snowmaking breakthrough, potentially slashing energy usage in half and making the modified Boyne Low-E fan guns up to 80% more efficient than standard snow guns.  The first phase of this roll-out includes 42 snow guns to be tested on two popular slopes - Hemlock at Boyne Mountain and North Challenger at Boyne Highlands.  The Boyne Low-E fan gun, with its marginal temperature snowmaking capability and unsurpassed quality, has allowed Boyne to offer seasons spanning November to April the past three years.

The resorts are proud to be among 22 unique and legendary ski areas across North America that skiers and snowboarders can access this season with the new and revolutionary M.A.X. Pass.  The M.A.X. Pass provides five days at each participating ski area for a total of 110 days on the slopes and no blackout dates.  BOYNE Gold passholders are able to purchase the M.A.X. Pass at significantly discounted rates.  For complete details, visit

For the 2015/16 season, Boyne Highlands is hosting a women's only ski clinic with former U.S. ski team member Lisa Densmore, welcomes a new Head Coach for BOYNE Flyers and Team Elite, and is adding ski racing training opportunities, park features, and new equipment.

At Boyne Mountain, the 2015/16 season brings the First Class Lesson Program, expanded lift hours on the Ramshead chairlift, as well as a new fat tire snow biking trail, rental equipment, and seasonal treatments at Solace Spa.

Three Lessons are Always Better than One

Boyne Mountain's new First Class Lesson Program is quite possibly the best introduction for beginner skiers, and certainly the best value.  Participants begin with a thorough overview of skiing including learning about equipment and ski terrain, then partake in six hours of on-snow instruction, all with the same instructor, spread over two days. And since practice makes perfect, participants receive complimentary ski rental for the remainder of the season, a 15/16 BOYNE Frequent Skier/Rider Card, plus shiny and new custom fitted HEAD ski boots-all compliments of Boyne Mountain and supporting the goal to make a lifelong skier out of every person that is interested in learning.  In total, the program package is valued at over $1,000 and offered for only $299.  Each session is limited to six adults and open to ages 18 years and up.  Sessions are offered December through March.  To reserve your space, call 231.549.6056 and for more information, visit

Ride More on Ramshead
Lift hours are being expanded for Ramshead chairlift with it now turning Wednesdays through Sundays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The expanded schedule provides additional access to the Ramshead Terrain Park, which features an already impressive jump line that is also being expanded to include up to 20 features.

Fat Tire Snow Biking Added
Boyne Mountain guests can ride on a new 10 km fat tire snow biking trail accessed near the Cross Country Center.  A trail pass is just $5 and bike rental is available for 2-, 6-, or 24-hours.

New Rental Equipment
The resort has added 95 Burton adult snowboards, and 65 Burton junior snowboards for a total of 160 new boards in the rental fleet.

Indulge in a Seasonal Delight at Solace Spa
Visit Solace Spa at Boyne Mountain for a seasonal treatment that feels as good as it sounds.  The Black Forest Chocolate-Bourbon Escape body treatment is available December through February.  This dreamy temptation begins with a warm dark chocolate mask that's loaded with nourishing vitamins and powerful antioxidants. Next, feet and legs are smoothed with a rich gingersnap-pecan brown sugar scrub infused with Kentucky whiskey.  After a whipped Shea butter massage, you're ready for an evening of après ski fun!  For spa reservations, call 231.549.7946.

The BOYNE experience offers snowsports on two mountains, Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs and Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls, located 27 miles apart, offering Lower Michigan's highest vertical and longest runs.  Lift tickets and season passes are interchangeable, providing the best value in Michigan.  Early purchase discounts on season passes are available through October 12, 2015.  Valuable preseason rates for Ski & Stay packages with breakfast are available now and for a limited time at Boyne Mountain and at Boyne Highlands.  When staying on a package, ages 9-15, receive reduced rates and kids ages 8 and under sleep, ski/ride, and eat breakfast for free!   For reservations, visit,, or call 800.462.6963.
